Neither would let me use the PS3 so that's just out as a deciding factor. Now, I'm also strongly considering a 24" Asus PA248Q ($329.99) an IPS 1920 x 1200, after spending some time looking at and playing with it today instead of 27" at $599.99. I purchased the single pressing item, an XFX R9-280X price matched to Newegg ($297 w/tax) and am able to game with the current display at an entirely new level of fidelity & detail. While at Microcenter I held much internal deliberation and decided to hold off until at least June's flyer/sales and the hopeful announcement from Intel on new K series processors in the next week or two.

I have legit 64bit Windows 8.1 Enterprise and Pro keys (will use Pro I expect). Perfer Intel NICġ0) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit? SATA6GB/s, USB 3.0, SLI would be good for "future proof" I suppose. Would love to do core components this weekend.ĩ) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? eSATA? Onboard video (as a backup or main GPU)? UEFI? etc.

Sound: X-Fi HD US (up for debate)- but I'm a stereo manħ) What is the max resolution of your monitor? What size is it?Ģ2" 1680x1050 (for now) looking to upgrade to 1440p 27" hence the new build!Ĩ) When do you plan on building/buying the PC? *Monitor: Have Samsung 22" 2220wm which I love for 1680x1050 HD4: OLD Seagate Barracuda 1TB ST31000528AS Please list out all the parts you'll need.ĬPU, RAM, MOBO, Video Card, Monitor, Intel 1Gig NIC (I require 2 LAN support total)ĥ) If reusing any parts, what parts will you be reusing? Please be especially specific about the power supply. The word "Everything" is not a valid answer. I believe they will price match a XFXR9280xTDFD to Amazon/Egg price ($280 online vs $329 store)Ĥ) What exact parts do you need for that budget? CPU, RAM, case, etc. Microcenter is 3.4 miles away and I hope to go today for everything but display! Not including gas to MCģ) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us the state and city if possible. A web surfer but I don't watch movies on it.Ģ) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?

Photoshop & Lightroom 5 (amateur photographer) who cares about color (thinking IPS 60HZ is > Tn I plan on getting a calibrator shortly (not included in budget), I do very very light video edits with 720p & 1080p in Adobe suite.

Games- BF3-BF4, Titanfall, SimCity5 (haha),Skyrim, DeadSpace, older STEAM games, etc. I can sacrifice this though as I realize 1440p is what I want and PS3 will suck on it/not work. it would be great if a new monitor could double as a PS3 display in my office. Want 27" display after getting 3 x 27" 1080p Dells at work and loving size (but not resolution).

I've done light OC on my Q6600 for some time, but only 3 years into it's duty cycle I'm tired of less than high graphics, and I bought but can't play BF4ġ) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc

Hi all, it's been a little bit, but I'm finally ready to retire my Q6600 (in sig) and am thinking z87 something and an i5-4670K at Microcenter which today is $189.99 and might be too good to pass up. ** Updated post below - I can wait 1-3 weeks for best options/value for CPU, MOBO, RAM $550/tax&shipping **
